1. Who we are

Right First Time UK (RFTUK) was established on 12 May 2026 to encourage fairness, transparency, accountability and better decision-making in the UK. We make public information easier to understand, highlight problems supported by evidence and help people find relevant support, complaints and challenge routes.

Our guiding principle is simple: get it right first time.

2. What we do

Our work focuses on issues affecting people who use public services. Depending on the subject, we may:

We aim to make our resources understandable and useful, including for people who prefer clear, written or accessible information.

3. Our principles and evidence standards

Our work is guided by fairness, evidence, accountability, transparency, accessibility, safety and respect. We aim to distinguish established facts from allegations, opinions and personal experiences. Where possible, important claims are supported by primary or official sources.

One person's experience may reveal a serious problem, but it does not automatically prove that the same problem is widespread. We assess wider claims against available evidence and consider responses from the organisations concerned.

If we identify a significant factual error in our published material, we aim to correct it promptly and explain material changes where appropriate.

4. Independent campaigning

RFTUK is independent of political parties. We may support or challenge government policies and public decisions, but we do not campaign for political parties or candidates. We review election-period campaigning against applicable Electoral Commission requirements.

We may share information about campaigns run by other organisations. Listing or linking an external campaign does not automatically mean RFTUK runs, partners with or endorses it.

5. Governance and company structure

Right First Time UK Ltd is a private company limited by guarantee, registered in the UK under company number 17493370. It operates on a non-profit, public-benefit basis and has no share capital. It is not currently presented as a registered charity.

Daniel Matthews is RFTUK's Founder and initial Director. Directors have responsibilities under company law and the company's Articles of Association, including proper governance, financial oversight and managing conflicts of interest.

Statutory company members are guarantors under the Articles of Association. Public website membership is different: subscribing to RFTUK services does not automatically confer statutory company membership, ownership, directorship or legal authority to represent RFTUK. Any public participation votes are distinct from formal company-law votes.

6. Volunteers and campaign roles

RFTUK works with volunteers, Campaign Leaders and others who contribute skills, research, lived experience and community knowledge. These roles are generally voluntary and unpaid, with flexibility around availability and suitable support. Reasonable expenses may be reimbursed when properly authorised in advance.

Campaign Leaders and other representatives must act within their authorised responsibilities and follow the relevant conduct, evidence, confidentiality and safeguarding standards. A voluntary role does not provide unlimited authority to speak or make commitments on behalf of the organisation.

7. Accessibility, safeguarding and respectful participation

We aim to make participation and information accessible, including reasonable adjustments where required. We welcome respectful questions, disagreement and constructive criticism.

Protecting children and adults at risk is more important than publicity or campaign activity. RFTUK is not a statutory safeguarding body and may refer appropriate concerns to responsible services. We do not promise confidentiality where disclosure is lawfully required to protect someone.

8. Information and professional advice

RFTUK is not a government agency, court, regulator, law firm, emergency service or medical provider. Our website provides general information and signposting; it does not guarantee an outcome or replace tailored advice from a suitably qualified professional.

For urgent danger, contact the relevant emergency services. People dealing with important legal deadlines or individual disputes should consider independent specialist advice.

9. Digital services and the Parent Contribution Service

Our website includes public information and may offer member-only or other restricted tools. The Parent Contribution Service (PCS) is an RFTUK service intended to support voluntary parent-to-parent arrangements through information, calculations, communication, agreements and records. PCS is not a separate company merely because it operates under a different name.

Under its current model, PCS does not receive, hold or transfer parent-to-parent contribution money and does not exercise statutory Child Maintenance Service enforcement powers.

We may use digital and AI-assisted tools for drafting, research organisation, accessibility and technical work. Important public claims and decisions affecting people remain subject to appropriate human review.

10. Funding and financial accountability

RFTUK may receive income from permitted sources including public memberships, service fees, donations, sponsorships or grants. Money should support the organisation's purposes and legitimate operating costs, with proportionate financial records and transparency.

Supporters, donors and partners cannot purchase an RFTUK conclusion, endorsement or governance decision. We do not claim charitable status or Gift Aid eligibility unless legally entitled to do so.

11. Privacy, concerns and complaints

We aim to collect and protect personal information in line with our published privacy and data-protection policies. RFTUK should not disclose private information simply because it was sent to us. Our digital services and forms may have additional terms that explain how they operate.

People can raise concerns or complaints about RFTUK's own activities. We aim to assess them fairly and respond appropriately, including correcting mistakes when identified. Criticism alone is not misconduct.

12. Contact and review

For enquiries, complaints, campaign information or accessibility requests, please use the contact details published on rightfirsttimeuk.com. Our detailed standards and related policies are available in the Policy Library.

This page will be reviewed when our services, governance or legal obligations change. Significant revisions will be dated.
