About Right First Time UK

Right First Time UK brings together information, guidance, public awareness, support pathways and signposting to help people better understand the systems and services that affect their lives.

ABOUT RIGHT FIRST TIME UK

Clearer Information. Better Understanding.

Right First Time UK is an independent information, awareness and advocacy platform focused on helping people understand public services, support routes and the systems that affect everyday life.

Right First Time UK Ltd is a registered private company limited by guarantee, Company No. 17493370, focused on improving access to information, guidance, awareness and support resources for individuals, families, carers, workers and communities across the United Kingdom.

We highlight issues affecting people across the UK and signpost users to official sources of help, support and further information.

Right First Time UK grew from real experiences of navigating complaints, public services and difficult systems, with the aim of helping other people find information and support more easily.

We recognise that issues involving housing, homelessness, child maintenance, disability support, safeguarding, financial hardship, family separation, health, complaints and public services can become confusing and overwhelming.

Our aim is to make important information easier to find, easier to understand and easier to use.

WHY WE STARTED

Built From Real Experience

Right First Time UK was created because too many people struggle to understand decisions, processes and services that can have a major effect on their lives.

Inspired by Robert Andrew Kellett — Andy

Andy understood first-hand the challenges people can face when dealing with complex systems and public services.

He shared information freely, helped people understand processes and complaint routes, and believed that useful information should be available to everyone — not only professionals or people with specialist knowledge.

His example continues to influence Right First Time UK today: helping people understand, helping people find support and helping people ask informed questions.

When people have the right information, they are better equipped to find the right support, make informed decisions and achieve better outcomes.
REAL LIVES

Built on Real Experiences

Behind every case file, complaint, debt notice, tribunal or enforcement action is a real person whose life may be affected.

Across the United Kingdom, individuals and families have experienced financial hardship, debt, enforcement action, housing instability, safeguarding concerns and difficulties navigating public services.

We remember people such as Gavin Briggs, and many others whose experiences highlighted the need for greater awareness, compassion, accountability and earlier support.

Financial hardship, family pressure, housing difficulties, mental health challenges and prolonged disputes can have serious effects on individuals and families.

We believe better information, earlier support, clearer communication and greater public understanding can help reduce avoidable harm.

Information is not just about paperwork. It can protect wellbeing, support families and sometimes help prevent a crisis.
