Do I need previous Director experience?
No. Previous governance or Board experience can be useful, but relevant skills can also come from work, volunteering, community activity, campaigning, business or lived experience.
Are the Director roles paid?
Unless a particular appointment is expressly advertised otherwise, applicants should not assume that a Director position is salaried employment.
How many positions are available?
There are currently five additional Director positions being advertised.
Do I have to live in Milton Keynes?
Not necessarily. Right First Time UK works on issues across the UK and applications can be considered from people in different areas, subject to the practical requirements of the role.
What information does the application ask for?
The application asks for your contact information, experience, skills, motivation, two references, eligibility declarations, conflicts of interest and safeguarding-related declarations.
Where is my application stored?
Online applications are submitted to the protected Right First Time UK server and are available to authorised administrators through the Director Applications dashboard.
Will I receive confirmation?
Yes. A successfully submitted application receives a unique application reference and an acknowledgement can be sent to the email address supplied.
Who receives my application?
The application is recorded in the secure application system and an application copy is sent to dan@rightfirsttimeuk.com.
How long will it take to hear back?
Right First Time UK aims to respond within 14 working days. Some applications may require further information or checks.
Does submitting an application mean I become a Director?
No. Submission of an application does not create an appointment. Applications must first be considered and any required governance and formal appointment steps completed.
Can my references be contacted?
Yes. References supplied as part of the application may be contacted where appropriate during the application process.
What happens if I have a conflict of interest?
Applicants should disclose relevant actual, potential or perceived conflicts. A declared conflict does not automatically mean an application will be rejected; it allows the organisation to consider whether and how the conflict could be managed.
